Adding a route map to your post isn't that difficult - so here we go ......

  • Head on over to Google maps at

  • Enter a place or postcode e.g. Scarborough
    File Attachment:

  • Zoom in on your map if you like to get ready for your start point

  • Click on Directions
    File Attachment:

  • It's easiest now just to click on the map at where you want to start - I have clicked along the seafront and it has filled in the start point automatically
    File Attachment:

  • If you now click in the Destination box you can choose your finishing point again by clicking on the map. I have selected Beverley
    File Attachment:

  • Now just copy the link in the address bar at the top of your map
    File Attachment:

  • Click on the Link button on your message/post.
    File Attachment:

  • In the URL: box paste the map link you just copied & in the Text: box enter a name of your route e.g. Scarborough to Beverley and click Add.
    File Attachment:

    Example link would be:
    Scarborough to Beverley

  • That's it - you've added a route map.

  • If you wanted to do a more complexed or not a 'direct' route you just need to add some way points along the way. Just do the route in stages by adding a Destination.
    File Attachment:

    The new example becomes this:
Scarborough to Beverley - not so direct!
