November 2021 Update

21 Nov 2021

bikes welcome hereWell a few months have passed, a quiet summer over and done but a new bike has given me reason to look at this site again. I thought about a clean slate and starting again but decided a rework and good clean-up was a better idea - keeping a little history of the site.

The essence of the site remains - your input is needed and without that there will be nothing. You know the best spots to ride, eat, and hangouts etc. in your area - so recommend them here. The purpose is to build a community that can share their views, recommendations and comment to help others - for those that enjoy motorcycling and to build a great resource for both new and older bikers. A few changes/updates may be inevitable in the coming weeks as the site is being brought up to date so please make sure you come back often:)

and are used to the British weather, the cold, the wind, the rain, the odd bit of sun, and always need

Well it continues to be a really strange year - and not just for biking. I'm sure there has been a lot less miles ridden this year - I know I certainly haven't been out as much, which hasn’t helped the plans with this site. I started this site at the start of summer 2019 in the hope I could start building up a list of rides, creating a cross-country network of local routes so that there would always be ‘somewhere to ride’.

With the help of others, I was looking to build a list/this site with recommended places to go beyond the usual ride-outs. I spoke to several people on bikes who thought it was a great idea but sadly not much happened last summer and then things really started changing at the end of the year. I spent the winter months making a great deal of changes to the site ready for the spring and to try and get people involved once again – but then lockdown and all that happened. Things are still not recovered yet like previous times and summer has now been and gone. But never give up.

So I’ve had time to think again – I still want to make this site work – so now with a change of direction (at least for the moment) I am looking at concentrating on a list of bike-friendly cafes and the like. After all, you don’t have to wait too long amongst a group of bikers to hear someone ask “where to next?” – and the usual answer is to the next cafe. It seems that there is always one thing that us bikers have in common and that’s meeting up with a good coffee/tea and cake!

So please help: recommend somewhere here – it won’t take long - and I’ll try and get places added asap. Thanks.

Hopefully you will be discovering new places and enjoy getting some more miles in soon.

I appreciate times are difficult and many can't perhaps get out - but for those that can, I'm sure your local bike-spot will be grateful of your support. Even if  some places are closed now - for seasonal or other resons - recommend them anyaway so we know where to go when we can!
