Where to now then?
I guess the same old places!
Due to a lack of interest pulling the covers over seems like the right thing to do. Shame.
I have left the site as it was - so you can see what what it was all about.
You can however still recommend places and take part in the forum, after all if there happens to be renewed interest then the covers could get lifted...
A lot of work went in to this site. It seemed like a really good idea back in 2019 and people appeared to agree. Yet in two years only a handful of recommendations and virtually no participation, suggestions or comment in the forum. What went wrong? Were things broken or really was it just something that held no interest? Could it ever be that ever-growing, ever-evolving resource I envisaged? You could always make comment!
Getting out on your bike and going for a run out is fun.....and yes riding around those same roads, going to the same place, having coffee and cake in your favourite spot is always good - but there is much more out there to be discovered and enjoyed. It is the aim of this site to share your knowledge, cafes, ride-outs, favourite roads, your routes and destinations to help other riders discover those good biking roads and places to go. But it doesn't just have to be about roads - there are a number of off-road 'green lanes' about if you happen to have the bike to ride them and no doubt lots of other great motorcycle spots if you know where to look.
Local knowledge is by far the best - and by using yours - we can build this site to cover many areas far and wide so that, should you find yourself somewhere new, there will be a recommended ride/destination nearby. So what are you waiting for?! Get stuck in .....
Recommend your local cafe or bike-friendly spot here.
Discuss rides and destinations and other bike-related stuff in the Somewhere To Ride forum.
Use the Locations map or under the UK & Ireland menu you will find that each area has been split in to counties to try and make finding local spots a lot easier to find. If your local spot isn't listed or you own/run a biker friendly place then recommend somewhere here – it'll only take a minute and cost you nothing :)
