Under the UK & Ireland menu you will find that each area has been split in to counties to try and make finding local spots a lot easier to find. If your local spot isn't listed or you own/run a biker friendly place then recommend somewhere here – it'll only take a minute and cost you nothing :)

Time to Ride .....
With many places now back open and the weather being as good as it is - you really couldn't want for a better time to get out there again and perhaps try somewhere new!
Map view is evolving - currently showing a few (reccomended) cafes and race circuits: recommend somewhere here – and it will be added to this site and map above.
It's simple and YOU know of the cafes etc that are open near you and can help by letting us know and making sure that your local spots are listed.

Fed Up of being Fed Up
....and not with food (too much of that lately) but racked off at not really being able to go out and enjoy a decent ride - comfortably that is. You know, the kind where you can just pull your helmet on and go out for a bit - somewhere, nowhere - without judgement. It really is still quite odd at the moment and – politics aside – the world really is a different place at the moment. Guess nobody really thought we’d be still like this a year later. But hey, we have to look ahead to more good times – normal times. And with things looking likely to start to opening up again slowly maybe we can all get some miles in, grab a coffee and get to a bike night or two this year……but where?
OK, I hoped that this ‘Somewhere To Ride’ idea may have had more interest and develop more than it has and provided more suggestions of places to go. I keep thinking it’s still a good idea and blame bad-timing and the last year/current situation but then wonder if it perhaps really holds no interest to other bikers and whether I should wrap it all up.....
But I don’t want to give up – yet. Perhaps my aversion to Facebook and other social medias doesn’t help – but it’s just not my thing. (Whilst they may serve many some good - each to their own - I can do without all the crap that goes with those things!). I’ve said before I didn’t want just another social media site – but a site for bikers, built with the help of other like-minded: bikers who ride and can recommend the places they go.
Now, more than ever, this site should be filling up with a load of recommendations of cafes and places to go. New places, old places, bike spots that are open or looking to open. At the moment I can see the same old, locally known destinations ahead – I want more, I want new places to go, I want to ride beyond my own local spots. Surely I’m not on my own here?
Enough said. Rant over.
Oh and I have had the chance to do a bit of reading and watching a few DVDs – if you’re in to bikes then you might like this!
We may still be under some kind of lockdown again and riding maybe limited once again- but let's remain positive and look forward to better times ahead. Unfortunately many people and businesses are struggling and those biker-friendly places will need your support. So please help and recommend them and help them to stay open / re-open.

It may be autumn, but
SO WHAT - WE RIDE MOTORBIKES
and are used to the British weather, the cold, the wind, the rain, the odd bit of sun, and always need
SOMEWHERE TO RIDE.
Well it continues to be a really strange year - and not just for biking. I'm sure there has been a lot less miles ridden this year - I know I certainly haven't been out as much, which hasn’t helped the plans with this site. I started this site at the start of summer 2019 in the hope I could start building up a list of rides, creating a cross-country network of local routes so that there would always be ‘somewhere to ride’.
With the help of others, I was looking to build a list/this site with recommended places to go beyond the usual ride-outs. I spoke to several people on bikes who thought it was a great idea but sadly not much happened last summer and then things really started changing at the end of the year. I spent the winter months making a great deal of changes to the site ready for the spring and to try and get people involved once again – but then lockdown and all that happened. Things are still not recovered yet like previous times and summer has now been and gone. But never give up.
So I’ve had time to think again – I still want to make this site work – so now with a change of direction (at least for the moment) I am looking at concentrating on a list of bike-friendly cafes and the like. After all, you don’t have to wait too long amongst a group of bikers to hear someone ask “where to next?” – and the usual answer is to the next cafe. It seems that there is always one thing that us bikers have in common and that’s meeting up with a good coffee/tea and cake!
So please help: recommend somewhere here – it won’t take long - and I’ll try and get places added asap. Thanks.
Hopefully you will be discovering new places and enjoy getting some more miles in soon.
I appreciate times are difficult and many can't perhaps get out - but for those that can, I'm sure your local bike-spot will be grateful of your support. Even if some places are closed now - for seasonal or other resons - recommend them anyaway so we know where to go when we can!
